family-run accommodation Mezőkövesd
The history of Boglárka dates back to 1992, when it all started with the purchase of a property in the Zsóry resort, which used to be a company’s holiday cottage.
Our family is working in hospitality since 1993, when the from May to September operating Boglárka Bufe opened its doors. The homemade flavors were accompanied by generous portions and friendly service, so the small chalet, where billiard and live music were available in the evenings, soon became famous.
From wooden house to guest house
The owner, Ádám Mátyás, had long cherished his dream of setting up a pension with a restaurant which is opened all year round. The dream came true in 2000 within the framework of a PHARE program.
The project "Matyóföld - Development of Tourism based on Spa and Thermal Water and Cultural Heritage" included two investments. One was the construction of a children's pool in the Zsóry Spa, and the other was the construction of a guesthouse. Work began in the summer of 2001 and was completed in the spring of the following year.
The all-year round opened Boglárka Pension-Restaurant was opened in May 2002 in the place of the seasonal wooden house unit. Upstairs there are 12 double rooms and 1 triple room, on the ground floor there is a restaurant for 60 people and an covered garden terrace for 100 people which operates from May to the end of September. The basement features Finnish and infra sauna and a massage room.
Over the years, following the needs of our guests, we have continually improved our services so that our visitors can relax with the utmost peace and comfort.
Boglárka Pension – accommodation Mezőkövesd
In July 2007, our existing offer of accommodation was extended by 4 apartment houses suitable for 4 persons each. Winterized guesthouses are favorite of families, groups of friends and senior guests. The apartments have a lawn with playground, sun loungers and a summer bar.
In the summer of 2016, we thought about how we could use the concrete patio in the backyard of the apartments. Breakdown? No way! Then construction! This is how the idea of a rustic barbecue terrace was born, offering a unique venue for family, friends and business events, whether it is a guided wine tasting or a stew party.
In spring 2019 our rooms and apartments were renovated, the building was insulated and solar panels were installed on the roof of the building. At the same time, our covered garden terrace was renewed and our kitchen has been updated with new equipment. All of these investments were realized within the framework of the Kisfaludy Program.
Much has changed in the past 25 years until a small wooden house has been converted into a guesthouse, but there is something left: our kitchen with homemade flavors, generous portions and friendly service, so the story is round.
"Each guest must be welcomed and provided with services so that he or she will be satisfied to return and feel free to recommend our accommodation - Boglárka Pension - to others, as we know there is nothing better than a satisfied guest advertising."
